We are pleased to say that our chosen Charity for this year is Hope House Children’s Hospices. Hope House provides help and support to families from Shropshire, Mid and North Wales who are facing the heart-break of losing a child they love through terminal illness.
They help to look after children at home or in their two hospices – Hope House in Oswestry and Ty Gobaith in Conwy - and provide counselling and support to their parents, carers, brothers and sisters. Their bereavement counselling is also available to families in the wider community suffering the sudden death of a child.
Hope House, which will celebrate its 15th Birthday in 2010, and Ty Gobaith, which was 5 this year, receive just one month’s Government funding each year. So they have to rely on donations and fundraising to help them raise the almost £4million they need to keep their doors open and their services running for the remaining 11 months of every year.
